Improvement of food and fruit crops using new breeding technologies. We study pathogen/host interactions of viral and bacterial plant diseases at the molecular level and use this knowledge to try to introduce resistance against these pathogens in grapevine, potato and wheat using genome editing approaches. We also use the same approach to introduce abiotic stress tolerance in grapevine. Finally, we design and develop molecular detection systems for important plant pathogens of grapevine and citrus.
